Every journey has its turning points — moments and people who quietly shape your path, sometimes without even realizing how deeply their influence will run. As I look back over the years, from my earliest days as a curious student to becoming the founder of Bluoyster Technology Services, I see not just my own footsteps but the guiding hands of those who helped me become who I am today.
This story is about them — the mentors, friends, and visionaries who believed in me, challenged me, and walked beside me through the chapters of my growth.
The Beginning — Bauhaus International Limited and Victor Onukwugha
My journey began in 2008 at Bauhaus International Ltd, owned by Architect Victor Onukwugha, where I served as a Website Designer and Graphics Designer during my Industrial Training while in The University of Abuja.
Bauhaus was more than a workplace — it was where I first learned what creativity, precision, and passion meant in the real world. It was also deeply personal because my mum, Mrs. Dorothy Echeozo, was the Executive Director of the company at the time.
Her presence and leadership inspired me daily. She modeled professionalism, excellence, and strength, showing me what it meant to lead with integrity. Working under the same roof where she commanded respect and results gave me a front-row seat to discipline and responsibility.
With Mr. Victor’s mentorship and my mum’s guidance, I built the foundation for everything I know today about design, teamwork, and focus. Those early lessons became the compass that has guided my career ever since.
Post-NYSC — Discipline at DSS under Okechukwu Ogwumike
After completing my youth service in 2014, I joined Mr. Okechukwu Ogwumike at the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja as a Data Entry Analyst.
It was a complete shift from the world of design, but one that taught me structure, confidentiality, and attention to detail. The environment demanded accuracy and discipline — skills that would later prove invaluable in project management and IT.
That period grounded me. It reminded me that creativity without discipline is just chaos — and that precision is the true language of professionals.
Tozali Magazine and Memuma Abubakar — The Art of Visual Storytelling
In 2015, I joined Tozali Magazine, owned by Maimuna Yaya Abubakar, as a Graphics Designer.
It was there I truly fell in love with visual storytelling. Each edition of the magazine was a canvas for expression — blending art, photography, and design to tell stories that connected with people.
Maimuna Yaya Abubakar’s trust in my creativity gave me room to experiment, grow, and learn. I understood for the first time that design wasn’t just about beauty — it was about emotion and impact. Her mentorship helped me develop a deeper understanding of how design can communicate values and identity.
A Defining Era — iCentra and Taopheek Babayeju
In 2016, my path led me to Taopheek A. Babayeju at iCentra. Working with Taopheek marked a defining era in my professional life.
He taught me time management, innovation, and creative discipline. More importantly, he taught me how to think strategically — to look at design not only as an art but as a tool for solving real-world problems.
Taopheek also expanded my network, connecting me with incredible professionals like Edward Enejoh and Michael Oluwagbemi of LoftyInc, whose influence would soon shape my next steps.
Taopheek A. Babayeju still remains one of the most influential mentors I’ve had, someone who leads with wisdom and empowers people to grow.
Friendship and Opportunity — LoftyInc and Michael Oluwagbemi
Through Taopheek, I met Engr. Michael Oluwagbemi, PE, PMP, MBA, FNSE of LoftyInc, a visionary and friend whose support went far beyond professional boundaries.
Michael believed in my skills and trusted me with his own company website and design projects that helped sharpen my craft. Working with him gave me not only experience but confidence. It was also through him that I connected with AfriLabs, opening my eyes to Africa’s growing technology ecosystem, by designing and managing thier website for over 3 years.
Michael’s friendship taught me that true mentorship isn’t just about guidance — it’s about belief. He believed I could deliver, and that faith fueled my growth more than any title or role ever could.
Growth and Family — Gottviewz Nigeria Limited and Leo Echeozo
In 2021, I began another transformative chapter when my brother and mentor, Engr. Leo Echeozo, brought me into Gottviewz Nigeria Limited.
Leo has been a source of both inspiration and accountability. He taught me that leadership means consistency, order, and self-discipline. Under his guidance, I started as a Procurement Manager, where I learned the backbone of business operations — structure, process, and precision.
Over time, I grew into my current position as IT Manager, merging my creative and technical skills to lead digital transformation efforts within the company.
Leo didn’t just offer me a job — he offered me a mindset: that professionalism and humility can exist side by side. His influence continues to shape the way I work and lead.
Fearlessness and Drive — Nelson Echebiri of Petros Farms
That same year, I met Nelson Echebiri, MD, MBA of Petros Farms — a mentor and friend with an unshakable belief that “impossible means nothing.”
Nelson’s perspective on life and business taught me resilience. He inspired me to take risks, dream bigger, and keep pushing beyond what I thought possible. His drive and fearlessness became a mirror that reflected what I, too, could become if I stayed determined.
Bluoyster Technology Services — The Vision Fulfilled
Today, I stand on the shoulders of these incredible people as the founder of Bluoyster Technology Services — a company dedicated to helping brands grow through creativity and technology.
At Bluoyster, we provide website design, branding, SEO, and IT consulting services, serving clients who believe, as I do, that digital innovation can transform lives and businesses.
But beyond the services, Bluoyster represents a journey — a dream built on mentorship, resilience, and faith. Every project we complete is a reflection of the people who once poured knowledge, trust, and encouragement into me.
Gratitude
As I reflect on this journey, one truth stands clear: no one grows alone. Every skill I’ve mastered, every challenge I’ve overcome, and every milestone I’ve reached has been possible because someone believed in me.
To Arch. Victor Onukwugha, Okechukwu Ogwumike, Maimuna Yahya Abubakar, Taopheek Babayeju, Edward Enejoh, Engr. Michael Oluwagbemi, Engr. Leo Echeozo, Nelson Echebiri, and especially my mother, Mrs. Dorothy Echeozo — thank you.
You were not just part of my story — you are my story. Your influence, guidance, and faith in me have shaped the man and professional I have become. Every success I celebrate today carries a piece of your wisdom, kindness, and legacy.
